Do You Know Lake County? Portraits of Our Community

“Nearly 40 percent of all residents in Lake County are in a rent- or mortgage-burdened home.”
- Report on Housing

“One in ten Lake County residents has inadequate access
to food.”

– Report on Hunger

The Lake County Community Foundation partnered with Rob Paral and Associates in 2011 to develop a series of reports that would provide an in-depth analysis--or portraits--of particular Lake County populations and service areas. Several of the reports were commissioned on behalf of the Lake County Leadership Task Force (now known as The Alliance for Human Services) to better understand the gaps in providing services to those in need across the county.

In 2010, The Lake County Community Foundation, in partnership with the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County, the College of Lake County and the United Way of Lake County, completed a landmark project which gathered data from the Lake County nonprofit sector in order to better understand the service needs of residents and the capacity of the county's health and human service sector to meet those needs.
