Special Situations and Gifts

Making Charitable Gifts of Stock

It can be very difficult to fund a private foundation or a commercially-managed charitable gift fund with assets such as closely held stock. With a donor advised fund or supporting organization, your client may contribute publicly-traded, closely-held, and restricted stock. Ask the Foundation for more information.

Gifts of Real Estate and Other Less-Liquid Assets

While the Foundation gladly accepts traditional funding sources like cash, securities and life insurance policies, we are extremely flexible and willing to consider many less-traditional, non-liquid assets. These include real estate, art, jewelry and other property of value.

When Your Client is a Not-for-Profit Organization

If your not-for-profit client is seeking a means of ensuring long-term financial stability, the Foundation can help it establish an endowment fund. Contact us for more information.

Clients seeking support or a charitable grant from the Trust should visit the Grant Seekers section of this site.

When your Client is a Corporation

Whether your corporate client is large or small, new to charitable giving or seeking to reevaluate its current philanthropic program, we can provide assistance. We help executives and employee committees find the giving structure that makes the most sense given a company's financial requirements and can assist in re-shaping a company's existing program. To learn more about how the Foundation can help corporate clients, contact us.

When your Client Owns a Closely Held Business

Owners of family businesses or closely held companies encounter different tax burdens than other individuals and must plan for the continuation of their business when they are no longer around to run it. The Foundation can help your client choose the most appropriate giving vehicle and assist him in funding it with closely held stock. We can also discuss the unique tax and estate planning issues specific to business owners. Contact us about your business owner client.
